The Peninsula
A narrow strip of land between harbor and Gulf.
Holiday Isle is a residential peninsula at the western end of Destin, Florida — a slender bridge of land with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and Destin Harbor on the other. Unlike the busier corridors along Highway 98, the neighborhood feels deliberately private: gated drives, low-density homes, and streets that end at the water.
At the very tip of the peninsula sits Destin Pointe, a gated community where the Gulf meets the East Pass — the channel that connects Choctawhatchee Bay to the open Gulf. The peninsula brings together Gulf and harbor scenery. Water conditions vary; the East Pass is an active boating channel with currents, not a sheltered children’s swimming area.
Holiday Isle includes private homes and condominium properties, with different beach-access arrangements. Destin Pointe is a gated community within the peninsula; Holiday Isle as a whole is not one gated development. Confirm the access included with your exact rental.

Plan grocery runs before you arrive; the neighborhood is residential, so stores are a short drive away.

Enjoy coastal sunsets, but do not assume calm-looking water is safe for swimming. Follow beach flags and local safety guidance and supervise children near water.
Book fishing charters and dolphin cruises early in peak season — the harbor is busy, and the best trips fill up.
